Courses & Lessons

What is ButcherCraft?

ButcherCraft is an online butchery training platform built around practical video lessons. The courses show real cutting, trimming, boning, preparation, and presentation techniques for beef, lamb, pork, and poultry.

Who are the courses for?

The courses are useful for apprentice butchers, chefs, farmers, smallholders, meat counter staff, home butchery enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to understand carcass breakdown and meat preparation in more detail.

Do I need previous butchery experience?

No. Some lessons are beginner-friendly, while others go deeper into professional technique. You can pause, replay, and work through the lessons at your own pace.

What courses are available?

ButcherCraft currently includes course areas for beef, lamb, pork, and poultry. Beef includes forequarter and hindquarter material, while lamb and pork cover practical breakdown, trimming, and preparation lessons.

How are the lessons delivered?

Lessons are delivered as online videos inside the course area. Each lesson focuses on a specific task, such as removing a primal, boning a cut, trimming, rolling, tying, or preparing retail-ready meat.

Can I watch on mobile or tablet?

Yes. ButcherCraft works in a modern web browser on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. A larger screen is recommended when following detailed cutting and trimming demonstrations.

Are captions included?

Where captions are available, they are included with the video lesson. We are adding and improving captions as course material is prepared and uploaded.

Access, Materials & Support

Can I download the videos?

The course videos are intended for streaming inside the ButcherCraft course area. Download availability may vary by course material, but the standard learning experience is online access through your account.

Do courses include written materials?

Some lessons and course areas may include supporting notes, diagrams, handouts, or cutting references. These are added where they help explain carcass structure, the order of cuts, or the finished preparation.

How long do I have access?

Course access is managed through your ButcherCraft account. If a course includes lifetime or ongoing access, that will be shown on the course page or checkout details.

Do I need specialist equipment?

For practical work, you will need appropriate knives, a safe cutting surface, protective equipment where required, and access to suitable meat or carcass sections. Always follow local food safety rules and safe knife handling practices.

Can I learn at my own pace?

Yes. The courses are self-paced, so you can watch lessons in order, repeat difficult sections, and return to specific techniques whenever you need a refresher.

Will I receive a certificate?

If a certificate is included with a course, this will be stated in the course information. The main focus of ButcherCraft is practical skill development and clear demonstration of butchery technique.

What if I have trouble accessing a course?

If you cannot access a course after enrolling, first check that you are logged into the correct account. If the issue continues, contact support with the email address you used to enroll and the name of the course.
